Sperando che anche questo sito non abbia prima o poi a ricevere le consuete vibrate proteste del governo turco, dato che in Turchia la questione è tuttora pressoché tabù, o quantomeno ridotta ai minimi termini, inseriamo nelle CCG/AWS la prima canzone che siamo riusciti a reperire sul massacro, o meglio sul genocidio, degli armeni perpetrato a partire dal 1915 nella Turchia prima del morente Impero Ottomano, e poi dei "Giovani Turchi". Per una storia più dettagliata di tale avvenimento si rimanda a questo sito in italiano, davvero ben fatto nella sua sinteticità. Sul genocidio armeno ricercheremo ovviamente altre canzoni, soprattutto per l'appena istituito (e doveroso) percorso concernente tale terribile e vergognoso e dimenticato episodio. Sa mère mourra de maladie, aggravée par la famine qui frappait la population arménienne. Les atrocités du génocide marquent Missak Manouchian pour la vie. De nature renfermée, il deviendra encore plus taciturne ce qui le conduira, vers l'âge de douze ou treize ans, à exprimer ses états d'âme en vers :

LA DERNIERE LETTRE DE MISSAK MANOUCHIAN A SA FEMME
Ma Chère Mélinée, ma petite orpheline bien-aimée,
Dans quelques heures, je ne serai plus de ce monde. Nous allons être fusillés cet après-midi à 15 heures. Cela m'arrive comme un accident dans ma vie, je n'y crois pas mais pourtant je sais que je ne te verrai plus jamais.
Que puis-je t'écrire ? Tout est confus en moi et bien clair en même temps.
Je m'étais engagé dans l'Armée de Libération en soldat volontaire et je meurs à deux doigts de la Victoire et du but. Bonheur à ceux qui vont nous survivre et goûter la douceur de la Liberté et de la Paix de demain. Je suis sûr que le peuple français et tous les combattants de la Liberté sauront honorer notre mémoire dignement. Au moment de mourir, je proclame que je n'ai aucune haine contre le peuple allemand et contre qui que ce soit, chacun aura ce qu'il méritera comme châtiment et comme récompense.... (continuer)

Non si sa esattamente che cosa significhi Dle yaman; sicuramente non è armeno. In arabo, Yaman è il nome dello Yemen: una melodia (e una storia) di derivazione araba? Yaman è anche il nome di una città dell'Iran; ma l'ambientazione, persino con il monte Ararat, è armena. Si tratta, probabilmente, della canzone popolare più nota nell'intera lingua armena.
E' una delle centinaia di canzoni popolari raccolte da Komitas Vardapet (o Vardabet), ovvero "Padre Komitas" dato che vardapet è un titolo religioso della chiesa armena, di cui egli era sacerdote. Padre Komitas, musicista di valore, la rielaborò affinché potesse essere eseguita e conosciuta da tutti gli armeni. Nella tragica storia d'amore della canzone fu immediatamente vista una precisa metafora della storia armena, tanto... (continuer)
