Sull’elettronica felpata di Enrico Fontanelli, la voce di Max Collini sembra portarci lontano, negli anni ’70, quando da bambino giocava intorno a una quercia secolare vicino Puianello, Reggio Emilia, ed ebbe un piccolo incidente. Siamo in uno dei luoghi simbolo della Resistenza, ma negli occhi di lui da ragazzino non c’è spazio per la consapevolezza di tutto ciò. Questa, semmai, arriva in fondo alla canzone, nell’età adulta, quando il pianoforte scocca i primi rintocchi e l’ascoltatore scopre che proprio accanto a quella sequoia venivano torturati i partigiani nel 1944. E allora Sequoia diventa un tuffo in memorie mai vissute, nell’eredità gigante dei nonni, fino alla rivelazione finale

Un bellissimo poema ambientato in una musica suggestiva. Un volo tra aquila e terra. Un invito a ricordare l'essenziale, ciò che presiede alla vita. Il cielo, le stelle, il sole, la terra. E noi, siamo solo la sua pelle. Però questo "noi" include tutto ciò che vive, anche il vento, le acque. E tutto questo crea un sentiero di memoria. Un sentiero in cui nessuna impronta va mai dimenticata. È tutto costitutivo di un percorso in corso di scrittura .

Un bellissimo poema ambientato in una musica suggestiva. Un volo tra aquila e terra. Un invito a ricordare l'essenziale, ciò che presiede alla vita. Il cielo, le stelle, il sole, la terra. E noi, siamo solo la sua pelle. Però questo "noi" include tutto ciò che vive, anche il vento, le acque. E tutto questo crea un sentiero di memoria. Un sentiero in cui nessuna impronta va mai dimenticata. È tutto costitutivo di un percorso in corso di scrittura .

Children are murdered daily in Palestine, but genocide is like that. It is appalling that so many people in the comfortable west seem not to care. While we might be frustrated by our impotence on this issue, surely our consciences demand that we not remain silent.
This song describes the horror of a young boy appearing on our screens stuffing his mouth with sand. The sand was a substitute for the flour which has vanished from Gaza.
Israel closed the northern border to genuine aid from the UN and relief agencies, while hypocritically instituting a so-called humanitarian organisation with US support. There was no safety at these distribution points, which were nothing more than yet another arm of Israel’s genocidal campaign, where aid seekers became easy targets and hundreds were slaughtered.

Abdullah ha scritto una poesia sul senso della guerra – nasce come poeta – e sull'origine dei conflitti umani. Infatti, il brano è una riflessione apolitica, ma più storica e filosofica. Citiamo anche i saraceni, per esempio. Tutti siamo legati dallo stesso sangue sanguinario e forse è per questo che siamo destinati alla guerra.
