Sempre a proposito di Slovik esiste una riscrittura di Vonnegut della suite di Igor Stravinskij L'Histoire du Soldat. E' il primo album di musica classico bollato con il bollino "parental Advisory"

Eddie D. Slovik fu un soldato americano, l'unico condannato a morte ed effettivamente ucciso per diserzione durante la Il guerra mondiale. 21.000 soldati vennero condannati durante la guerra per diserzione, di cui 49 condanne a morte, di cui fu eseguita solo quella di Slovik.
Americano di nascita, ma polacco di origine, con piccoli precedenti penali in adolescenza, alcuni storici osservano come la sua esecuzione abbia anche una qualche connotazione razzistica.
A Slovik, seppure senza essere in alcun modo citato nelle canzoni, è dedicato l'album Balaklava dei Pearls before swine
