No Man of War
(Maeran)

[2008]
Album: A Leaf Stains The Wind
A Leaf Stains The Wind
The fields of lifeless petals lean against the world,
A deathly hush, the futile legacy of war.
And the prayer we utter burns upon our lips..
Oh set us free that we may fight no more!

Row on row petals lean against the world
A deathly hush, the futile legacy of war
And the prayer we utter burns upon our lips
Oh set us free that we may fight no more..

Our footsteps break where the dust has fallen down,
Settled soft as if to lose the scars
We hear whispers of the voices of the dead
..Like souls of the lost calling from afar..

So many unknown face staring at the sky,
Bringers of peace or futile legacies of war?
And the world they utter hang upon the wind,
Pray for this world that it will fight no more.

And this silence, like mist across the fields,
Drifts out and hides the pain
Where the screams and battle cries of night
Once fell to earth like relentless rain..

..As the sun sinks down towards the far horizon,
The shades of countless soldiers reach to take our hands,
But with sad farewell and the promise to return..
We look away hoping they will understand.

Still fields of lifeless petals lean against the world
A deathly hush, the futile legacy of war.
And the prayer we utter burns upon our lips
Oh set us free that we may fight no more..

Still fields of lifeless petals lean against the world
A deathly hush – the futile legacy of war.
And the prayer we utter burns upon our lips
Oh, set us free that we may fight -no more!
