Il Collettivo Ticino Riva Sinistra di Nino Jomini, come oramai dovrebbe essere noto a tutti coloro che frequentano il nostro sito, era di Castano Primo; e di Castano primo era anche Giovanni Ardizzone, lo studente ucciso il 27 ottobre 1962 durante una manifestazione per la pace in occasione della Crisi di Cuba. Sull'Ardizzone già il CTRS aveva scritto una canzone. Quest'altra, più lunga ed esplicita (ma che utilizza senz'altro molte parti di "Dopo Ardisun"; quasi sembrano due "rami" della stessa canzone), la riprendiamo (ricopiandola) invece dalla brochure "Il canzoniere del Collettivo Ticino Riva Sinistra - Quindici canzoni popolari con testo a fronte" edito dalla Cooperativa "Il Guado" di Rebecchetto e fattoci pervenire da Simone Galli di Saronno (che non finiremo mai di ringraziare).

Non sappiamo, purtroppo, chi fossero quei tre ragazzi fucilati a vent'anni di cui parla questa bella canzone che riproduciamo dall'introvabile brochure dattiloscritta Il Canzoniere del Collettivo Ticino Riva Sinistra (Quindici canzoni popolari con testo a fronte), edito dalla Cooperativa Il Guado, una cui copia ci è stata gentilmente fatta pervenire dall'impareggiabile Simone Galli di Saronno, che ringraziare semplicemente sarà sempre troppo poco (anche perché ci ha inviato due CD zeppi di mp3, che potremo mettere online in un prossimo futuro a sostituire la pagina del Circolo di Rifondazione Comunista di Magenta –che ospitava tutte le canzoni del CTRS poi malauguratamente e inspiegabilmente rimosse).

Un'invettiva contro l'amministrazione Bush, a partire dalla gestione della tragedia di New Orleans, su cui nel 2005 si è abbattuto l'uragano Katrina.

E' il brano che apre la seconda parte dell'album "Both Sides of the Gun" (2006).

Antonello ha dedicato al padre diverse canzoni: "Mio padre ha un buco in gola"(dall'album "le cose della vita", 1973) , che prende il titolo dalla ferita subita da Vincenzo Italo Venditti nella seconda guerra mondiale. La "leggenda" racconta che un proiettile rimbalzò sulla fibbia della cinta e si conficcò in gola.
La canzone, dai toni molti aspri, è un atto di accusa verso i genitori giudicati dal giovane Venditti estremamente "chiusi" e simboli di un'Italia che non gli piace. La madre è "professoressa" di latino e greco, il papà proprio negli anni della contestazione è vice prefetto di Roma. Da notare il "simpatico" aneddoto secondo cui durante l'occupazione della facoltà di Architettura (Valle Giulia, vedi la canzone "Qui", "Cuore", 1984), il vice-prefetto chiamò con il megafono suo figlio dicendo "Antonello non fare il cretino, vai a casa"; Tornando alla canzone "Mio padre ha un buco... Dal primo solo album, intitolato semplicemente "Jarvis" (2006)... e non si può che essere d'accordo con Jarvis: sono le teste di cazzo a fare ancora il bello e il cattivo tempo in giro per il mondo. Dedicato a Bush e Blair, in particolare.

Le statistiche sulla violenza all'interno della coppia variano sensibilmente da un paese all'altro. Secondo l'ONU, il 30% delle donne britanniche subisce abusi dai propri coniugi o ex-coniugi. In Giordania occidentale, la percentuale arriva al 52%, in Nicaragua al 28%, in Bangladesh al 47%, in Canada al 29%, nel Sud e il Sud-Est deell'Anatolia (Turchia) al 58%, in Australia al 23% e in Cambogia al 16%. Un inchiesta condotta in Svizzera ha dimostrato che una donna su cinque tra i 20 e i 60 anni dice di aver subito violenza fisica o sessuale dal coniuge o compagno.
Nel 70% dei casi di donne assassinate, il colpevole si rivela essere il proprio partner.

Non c'è forse un altro attivista, sindacalista, magistrato o leader politico assassinato dalla mafia che abbia ispirato così tanta produzione letteraria, cinematografica e musicale. Probabilmente perché per tanto, troppo tempo la verità sull'uccisione di Peppino Impastato è stata ribaltata, sicuramente per merito dei suoi compagni che hanno tenuto duro per 25 anni, finché da un'aula di tribunale non è arrivato il verdetto definitivo: a far uccidere il giovane attivista di Lotta Continua e DP era stato l'ex capo di Cosa Nostra Tano Badalamenti.

Mi è capitato di ascoltare questa canzone in un posto dove mai e poi mai mi aspetterei di trovare una canzone contro la guerra: un volo intercontinentale della British Airways sulla rotta Londra-Vancouver.
Non so se la principale compagnia aerea britannica sa di proporre, tra gli album scelti per intrattenere i passeggeri, una canzone che racconta una semplice e tristissima verità su come tornano a casa, su altri aerei, giovani avvolti in inutili bandiere. Ho poi letto su "The Guardian" di un giovane soldato inglese morto a diciott'anni in un incidente in Afghanistan il primo giorno di servizio. Spero che al signor Blair, durante il prossimo viaggio per andare a trovare il suo amico Bush, capiti di ascoltare questa canzone. Ma probabilmente non ci farebbe caso oppure sceglierebbe di ascoltare Norah Jones (con tutto il rispetto per Norah Jones).

Durante il tour delle Seeger Session, Springsteen ha iniziato a cantare questa canzone che non è presente sul disco in studio, si trova invece nel bellissimo "Live in Dublin". Una versione in studio è apparsa nell'album del 2012 "Wrecking Ball".

La musica è tipicamente celtica, ed è molto simile ad un traditional scozzese intitolato "Gallant Forty-Twa".

Le parole sono una storia di immigrazione, la storia dei milioni di emigranti che hanno costruito l'America e che l'America ha ripagato uccidendoli nei cantieri mentre costruivano ferrovie, lavoravano nelle fabbriche. Da notare che Zerilli (o Zirilli) è il nome italiano della madre di Springsteen, figlio di un irlandese e di una italiana.

Anni caldi questi. Siamo a metà degli anni settanta ed esattamente nel ’75 esce questo disco che è il più bell’esempio di “musica politica” mai prodotto in Italia. L'album “Un biglietto del tram” è il primo vero album decisamente originale e con forti contenuti politici degli Stormy Six. Forse è storia o forse è leggenda che a Milano alcune frange del “movimento” abbiano accusato gli Stormy Six di deviazionismo, la colpa: incidere dischi e, soprattutto, venderli!
