Đàn bò vào thành phố
Đêm buồn vắng buồn hơn
Đàn bò vào thành phố
không còn ai hỏi thăm
Đàn bò tìm dòng sông
nhưng dòng nước cạn khô
Đàn bò bỗng thấy buồn, bỗng thấy buồn
rồi một hôm đứng mơ mây ngàn

Một người vào thành phố
đếm từng bước buồn tênh
Một người vào thành phố
không còn ai người quen
Người tìm về đồng xanh
nhưng đồng đã bỏ không
Rồi người bỗng thấy buồn, bỗng thấy buồn
Người chợt nghe xót xa đất mình

(Điệp khúc)

Ôi quê hương đã lầm than

English version by Nguyễn Vũ Thành
NOMAD

A herd of cows enters the city
The night is sad, desolate, hence sadder
A herd of cows enters the city
there's no one to ask for
The herd finds a river
but the stream is dry
The herd feels sad, suddenly sad
then one day dreams of mountain clouds

A man comes in city
counts each steps, sadly
A man comes in city
there's no more acquaintances
He find the green field
but the field is vacant
Then he feels so sad, suddenly
Suddenly he is unhappy about country

(Refrain)

Oh motherland was wretched
why it's still, still in war ?
Old mother stopped waiting
Slept quietly
Mother slept quietly forever

Drop a lullaby for thousands years
Set the cradle free for emptiness
For emptiness, let loose the hands
Child bums around
Child bums around, a life
Child bums around, this fate

A herd of cows enters the city
sadly drop a bell sound
A man comes in city
hears his soul freezing
He find the mountain
but forest was fallowed
Then his sadness vanishes, suddenly vanished
Rocks lie heavy on his soul

(Refrain & part 3)

Rocks lie heavy on his soul
Rocks lie heavy on his soul... (fading)
