Cercando canzoni del Grup Yorum, sono rimasto piuttosto sbalordito che nell'album Cemo/Gün Gelir del 1989, già esperito da Bernart, ve ne fosse una in lingua danese. E' questa Stien i bjerget ("Il sentiero sulla montagna"), musicata dal Grup Yorum ma scritta e interpretata in lingua originale dai Savage Rose. I Savage Rose sono un importante gruppo rock psichedelico danese fondato nel 1967; il suo leader, Thomas Koppel, è morto nel 2006. Rock psichedelico sì, ma sempre accompagnato da testi militanti e antifascisti, come appunto questo. Una canzone, a mio parere, di bellezza straordinaria. [RV]

September 11, 2001. We all know what that date means. We all bow our heads and cry for the victims of the horrible crime.
September 15, 1982, the world came to a stand-still also. Young girls, boys, fathers and mothers were massacred in the Sabrah and Shateelah refugee camps. It's 20 years today.
We saw the documentation. Our wonderful friends of all ages, whom we got to know little more than a year before. They were not singing anymore, not smiling, not dancing. Not talking about their inextinguishable hope for peace and happiness. We saw them raped, mutilated. Can't even make myself mention what really happened to them."

Written when The Savage Rose were the guests of the PLO in Lebanon May thru June 1980. Among many other sites, they visited and sang at Sabra, Shatila, Burj-Al-Barajne, Nabatiyeh, Rashidiyeh, Arnoun, refugee camps in Damascus, Syria, etc.
The song was first recorded 1981 on the album 'En Vugge Af Stål' (Cradle Of Steel). But now it is available in English for the first time.
