Un singolo di ben 18 minuti, davvero insolito per una punk rock band!
“The Decline” is largely a satire of American politics and law, with an overwhelming concern for blind behaviors of the masses, such as complacency, indifference, gun violence, drug-use, and conformity, as well as destruction of constitutional rights, and condemnation of the religious right. Although the lyrics are somewhat disjointed, they all refer back to the unifying theme of the "decline" of America.
“Il declino” è in gran parte una satira sulla politica e la giustizia americane. Trasmette una forte preoccupazione per la cieca assuefazione delle masse, comprovata dalla noncuranza, dall’indifferenza, dalla violenza e dall’abuso nell’uso delle armi e delle droghe, dal conformismo come anche dall’annientamento dei diritti costituzionali e dal contemporaneo affermarsi dell’oscurantismo religioso. Questo è per i NOFX il declino dell’America…
