Non ho un'armatura che mi impedisce di muovermi. | nor a hampering armor. |

Oggi ho intenzione di andare per il mondo , | Today, I'm going to set out for the world |

quando non ha paura di se stesso | Once you stop being afraid of yourself |
non ha paura neanche di vivere la vita. | you stop being afraid of living your life. |

Il mondo è pieno di segreti, | The world is full of secrets, |
in ogni attimo c'è eternità | eternity dwells in every moment, |
in ogni strada c'è una persona | in every street dwells a human being |
con dentro parole sconosciute | full of unknown words. |
| |
Addio alle leggi , | Farewell to laws |
con cui il mondo è stato incatenato, | used to restrain the world, |
addio ai confini | farewell to borders |
che sono stati eretti in eccesso. | of which there are too many. |
| |
Addio alle armi | Farewell to arms |
con cui si protegge la vita, | used to protect life, |

Oggi ci tengo a stare in piedi, | Today, I can stand up again, |
Oggi me ne vado per il mondo | today, I'll set out for the world |
oggi camminerò per la mia strada, | to walk my own paths, |
Voglio vedere cosa c'è dietro le mura . | to see what's behind the walls. |
| |
Oggi comincio a cantare, | Today, I'll start singing, |
oggi telefonerò alla guerra, | today, I'll bring a knife to a gunfight |
telefonerò alla guerra e le dirò che | in order not to have to |
non c'è bisogno di far male a nessuno | harm anyone. |
| |
Addio alle menzogne | Farewell to arms |
a cui si credeva, | we believed in, |
addio ai discorsi | farewell to arms |
con cui i peccati sono stati espiati. | we used to atone for our sins. |

A Farewell to Arms
His golden locks Time hath to silver turn’d;
O Time too swift, O swiftness never ceasing!
His youth ’gainst time and age hath ever spurn’d,
But spurn’d in vain; youth waneth by increasing:
Beauty, strength, youth, are flowers but fading seen;
Duty, faith, love, are roots, and ever green.
His helmet now shall make a hive for bees;
And, lovers’ sonnets turn’d to holy psalms,
A man-at-arms must now serve on his knees,
And feed on prayers, which are Age his alms:
But though from court to cottage he depart,
His Saint is sure of his unspotted heart.
And when he saddest sits in homely cell,
He’ll teach his swains this carol for a song,—
‘Blest be the hearts that wish my sovereign well,
Curst be the souls that think her any wrong.’
Goddess, allow this agèd man his right
To be your beadsman now that was your knight.
