ETT ANNAT HAV

Innan begäret,
långt innan människan
blänkte deras ryggar under solen.
Under samma sol som nu
ekade signalerna i havet.

Fast tiden fört oss in i skilda diken

ANOTHER SEA

Before desire, yes, long before mankind.
Their backs glistened in the sun.
It was the same sun as now.
They could sing freely in the sea then.
But it was another sea than now.
It was another and better sea than now.

It was the Blue Whale’s sea
It was the Dolphin’s sea
It was the Beluga Whale’s sea
It was a different and a better sea than now

With astonishing dignity and strength
In the sea which created us all
We don’t live close to them any longer.
But it wasn’t them who pulled away
When they invited us to swim among them
So we can feel their skin
But all we invited them to was a deadly harpoon

It was the Blue Whale’s sea
And it was the Dolphin’s sea
And it was the Beluga Whale’s sea.
It was a different and a better sea than now

I see the dolphins suffocated in the tuna fish net
I see a pilot whale confined in a cove.
It echoes in my heart
Because for every one killed
A part of me dies as well

Another Sea
Another Sea
Another Sea

Look how the blood colors the water
Hear the dying cry of the whale
Look at the others lying next to it
So that they can lift it up
So it can breathe.
It’s so clear that it’s so little it needs
Only the right to its' life
To another and a better life than now

Because it is the Blue Whale’s sea
And it is the Dolphin’s sea
It is the Beluga Whale’s sea
It is a different and a better sea than now

Yes, it is the Blue Whale’s sea
And it is the Dolphin’s sea
It is the Beluga Whale’s sea
