Η ΣΜΎΡΝΗSMYRNA

Η Σμύρνη μάνα καίγεται καίγεται και το βιος μαςSmyrna, mother dear, is burning [1], and so is all that made up our lives
ο πόνος μας δε λέγεται δε γράφεται ο καημός μαςOur pain can not be told, our grief can not be written down.

Ρωμιοσύνη ρωμιοσύνη δε θα ησυχάσεις πιαRomiosyni, Romiosyni,[2] there is no rest for you
ένα χρόνο ζεις ειρήνη και τριάντα στη φωτιάone year you live in peace, and thirty in the fire
Ρωμιοσύνη ρωμιοσύνη δε θα ησυχάσεις πιαRomiosyni, Romiosyni, there is no rest for you
ένα χρόνο ζεις ειρήνη και τριάντα στη φωτιά…one year you live in peace, and thirty in the fire…

Η Σμύρνη μάνα χάνεται τα όνειρά μας πάνεSmyrna, mother dear, is burning, our dreams are done.
στα πλοία όποιος πιάνεται κι οι φίλοι τον χτυπάνεOn the ships, if one takes hold, even the friends[3] hit him.

Ρωμιοσύνη ρωμιοσύνη δε θα ησυχάσεις πιαRomiosyni, Romiosyni, there is no rest for you
ένα χρόνο ζεις ειρήνη και τριάντα στη φωτιάone year you live in peace, and thirty in the fire
