Γιαννιώτισσες Σουλιώτισσες	Women from Ioannina [1], from Souli[2] ,
ξαφνιάσματα της φύσης	surprises of nature!
εχθρέ γιατί δε ρώτησες	Enemy why didn’t you ask
ποιον πας να κατακτήσεις	whom you are about to conquer ?

[1] Le donne di Ioannina combatterono con coraggio nella battaglia di Bizani nel 1913 contro gli Ottomani [2] Si riferisce all’eroismo delle donne di Souli che si suicidarono in massa gettandosi dal monte Zalongo per non essere ridotte in schiavitù dagli Ottomani nel 1803 [Note di Riccardo Gullotta]	[1] The women from Ioannina bravely fought in the battle of Bizani in 1913 against the Ottomans. [2] It refers to the heroism of the women from Souli in 1803. They committed suicide in mass by throwing themselves from Mount Zalongo to avoid being enslaved by the Ottomans.
