[2] Traduco così, rispettando la sostanza dei fatti, il termine che indica propriamente i membri degli Ελληνικά Τάγματα Ασφαλείας [Elliniká Tágmata Asfalías, “Battaglioni Ellenici di Sicurezza”], detti anche Τάγματα Ευζώνων [Tágmata Evzónon “Battaglioni di Euzoni”] e, spregiativamente, Γερμανοτσολιάδες [Yermanotsoliádes “Euzoni tedeschi”], istituiti dallo SS-Gruppenführer Walter Shimana nel 1943, capo supremo delle SS tedesche in Grecia. Le SS greche contarono fino a quasi 6000 membri attivi; per essere chiari, il loro simbolo era lo stesso delle SS.
[3] Nikólaos Burandás (gr. Νικóλαος Μπουραντάς) fu un collaboratore nazista durante l'occupazione dell'Asse, che svolse la funzione di capo della Polizia Cittadina. Dopo la guerra fu mandato a processo, ma assolto da tutte le accuse. Morì nel 1981 dopo essere stato ufficiale della polizia militare e, in seguito, capo dei Vigili del Fuoco greci.
