THE HANGIN TREE | COPACUL DE SPANZURATOARE |
Are you, are you | Vei veni, vei veni, |
Coming to the tree | Vei veni la copacul |
Where they strung up a man | Unde au spanzurat un om |
They say murdered three. | Care a omorat alti trei. |
Strange things have happened here | Lucruri ciudate s-au intamplat aici |
No stranger would it be | Asa ca nu va fi mai ciudat |
If we met at midnight | Daca ne-am intalni la miezul noptii |
In the hanging tree. | La copacul de spanzuratoare. |
Are you, are you | Vei veni, vei veni, |
Coming to the tree | Vei veni la copacul |
Where the dead man called out | Unde omul mort si-a vestit |
For his love to flee. | Iubita sa sa fuga. |
Strange things did happen here | Lucruri ciudate s-au intamplat aici |
No stranger would it be | Asa ca nu va fi mai ciudat |
If we met at midnight | Daca ne-am intalni la miezul noptii |
In the hanging tree. | La copacul de spanzuratoare. |
Are you, are you | Vei veni, vei veni, |
Coming to the tree | Vei veni la copacul |
Where I told you to run, | Unde ti-am spus sa fugi |
So we'd both be free. | Ca sa fim amandoi liberi. |
Wear a necklace of rope/hope*, | Unde o sa porti un colier de speranta, |
Side by side with me. | La fel ca al meu. |
* In the film, Plutarch Heavensbee uses the film of Katniss singing as anti-Capitol propaganda and changes the lyrics from "necklace of rope" to "necklace of hope" to take away some of the morbid undertones. Plutarch then uses the song as a rebel anthem. |
