Traduzione inglese dal programma 2006 delle celebrazioni per...
CHI È CHE BUSSA?WHO'S KNOCKING?

Who's knocking so late at night?
Berele, il tuo ragazzo. 1Berele, my boyfriend.
Apri, apri, Brontshele,Open up, Brontshele,
Sono il tuo innamorato. 2I'm your lover.

E come posso aprirti? How can I open up?
Ho paura del babbo!I'm afraid of my father.
Apri, apri, Brontshele,Open up, Brontshele,
non ti succederà nulla. No harm will come to you.

E come posso aprirti? How can I open up?
Ho paura della mamma!I'm afraid of my mother.
Apri, apri, Brontshele,Open up, Brontshele,
e stiamo io e te insieme.Let's be together.

Who's knocking so late at night?
E' la fame del ghetto. It's hunger striking the ghetto,
Apri, apri un negoziettoOpen up a food storehouse,
ché mi sentirò meglio.I'll feel easier.

E come posso aprirti? How can I open up?
Ho paura del vecchio!I'm afraid of the old man.
Apri, apri un negozietto, 3Open a storehouse,
sarò bravo a nasconderlo.I'll hide it well.

Who's knocking so late at night?
Sono le pene del ghetto. It's suffering striking the ghetto,
Tre anni qui nel ghetto,Three years in the ghetto,
ora ci dobbiamo separare. Now we must part.
