Lasciate che dicano la loro. Liberate la gente! Lasciate che rivedano la luce del sole. Stava spuntando un’alba tetra quando hanno portato via il suo uomo senza sapere quale crimine avesse commesso, neppure di cosa fosse colpevole nessuno di loro avrebbe potuto dirlo, ma avrebbero pensato a qualcosa in tempo. A cosa gli giova il diritto di esser nato, se patisce la perdita della libertà? Le leggi sono state fatte per la gente e la legge non può mai disprezzare il diritto di un uomo ad essere libero. Noi siamo la gente e noi trionferemo. Liberate la gente! Lasciate che dicano la loro. Liberate la gente! Lasciate che rivedano la luce del sole. |
