(1) Mo'hôh-tav-e-too'o ("Caldaia Nera"), l'anziano sachem dei Cheyenne meridionali, finirà infatti i suoi giorni sulla riva di un altro fiume, il Washita, loc. Roger Mills County, Oklahoma, mentre con la moglie Mai-yoona ("Donna della Medicina", che lo esortava invece a fuggire) cercava invano (stavolta alzando -non le bandiere- ma entrambe le mani in segno di pace e di resa) di fermare i cavalleggeri del 7° di Custer, lanciati ormai in una furibonda carica contro il suo villaggio al suono di un'allegra marcietta militare ("Garry Owen"), in un altro grigio mattino di neve.. quello del 28 novembre 1868 (Battle of Washita River - Wikipedia). Davvero il riporre troppa fiducia negli uomini bianchi fu la sua sola colpa...
