La photo, tirée de Wikipedia montre Mary Vecchio, agenouillée sur le corps de Jeffrey Miller, une des victimes du 4 mai 1970 à la Kent State University, pendant qu'elle pleure désespérement. Ce fut une des images les plus durables de la tragédie et elle fit gagner à John Filo un Prix Pulitzer pour la photographie.
