Da/From "Comicopera"

comicopera

[Renato Stecca]

[muttering]

I’ve been walking for hours,
Needed a rest.
Take a good look around,
Nowhere to rest.

There’s a shop
selling gentlemen’s suits.
Further along
an estate agent or two.

And a take-away sign
over a dusty door.
Shiny photos of food,
slightly microwaved.

There’s a methodist hall.
No smoking
No dogs
in the methodist hall.

It looks pretty grim
in the methodist hall,
despite a poster which says that
‘He’s There for Us All’

And it’s a beautiful day,
for walking away.

It’s a beautiful day,
but not here.

Prima di cantare (quello che Renato Stecca chiama muttering ovvero borbottìo) Robert farfuglia: "Oh, look, there's a dead rabbit all flat, completely flat, oh there's another one, what's in the gutter, oh, it's a....one of those polystyrene, ummm boxes, that's all take away, there's chips in there, didn't really want to finish the chips, that's unusual."

UNA PACE MERAVIGLIOSA

Ho camminato per ore,
ho bisogno di riposo.
Mi guardo bene in giro,
nessun posto dove riposare.

C’è un negozio
che vende abiti da uomo.
Più avanti
un agente immobiliare o due.

Un cartello di cibo da asporto
sopra una porta polverosa.
Foto scintillanti di cibo,
leggermente scaldati al microonde.

C’è una sala metodista.
Vietato fumare
No cani
nella sala metodista.

Sembra un po’ inquietante
nella sala metodista,
nonostante un poster
‘Lui è Qui per Tutti Noi’

È un giorno meraviglioso,
per andarsene

È un giorno meraviglioso
ma non qui.
