bubbifingra

LAW & ORDER

What are law and order [1] made for,
To hide this, that and the other?
Bloodstained footprints, handcuffs clenching
And the report says: “He was repeatedly falling”.

They beat him in the car with batons and knuckles
They insulted and offended him heavily.
Nothing was seen except a small bruise,
It was an accident, we weren't there.

We could hear him call and ask for water,
He was complaining he was cold, too.
Later at night, he talked to the blue sky.
It wasn't until morning
That we realized he was dead.

Don't point at me, says the chief warden,
Last night I was rehearsing for the police choir.
Ask those who were on duty,
I guarantee they will tell the truth.

[1] If separated, the words mean 'law and order'. If juxtaposed in a compound, lögregla, they mean 'police'.
