Déanta

Sellafield è una località inglese, nella Cumbria, sul mare d'Irlanda, dove fin dal secondo dopoguerra sono stai costruiti diversi impianti nucleari, ad uso militare e civile. Negli anni 50 e 70, e poi ancora nel 2004 e 2005, a Sellafield ci sono stati incidenti anche molto gravi. Nel 1957 ci fu una fuga di materiale radioattivo pari a 1/10 di quella prodotta ad Hiroshima. Centinaia i morti, gli effetti a medio lungo periodo di difficile valutazione, ma basta pensare che gli esperti inglesi hanno valutato che lo smantellamento e la bonifica dell'area occupata dal vecchio reattore Magnox, spento nel 2003, richiederebbero un centinaio d'anni di lavoro, fino al 2115...
