Lyrics and Music by Charlie Schillinger

A powerful song dedicated to the members of the armed services currently serving in Iraq.
Wasn't all that long ago,
As a nation we gathered to pray
That we'd end a war we knew wasn't right
Vowed we'd never repeat it again..

So for thirty years we've tried,
to repair the deep wounds to our land
But the King says: "Quiet, it's still a noble fight".
So we bury our heads in the sand..

But today we still fight on,
as we pray for their safe return
And it pains us so where this ends I don't know
How I wish we were bringing them home

A blind eye,
A pack of lies
Please bring them all home today
No dry eyes,
just sad good-byes
You bring them all home today,
You bring them all home again!

Trading lives to satisfy their own egos
They put us into this mess to clean after they leave us
They're all talking to God - but not a single one hears him
Where are all the bodhisattvas - when you really need them?

A blind eye,
A pack of lies
Oh Jesus Christ, not again!
No dry eyes,
just sad good-byes
Oh Jesus Christ, not again..
Oh Jesus Christ, not again!
