Traducendo questa bellissima canzone, oltre al riferimento alla foto di Capa, mi sono venuti in mente altri riferimenti, probabilmente sono solo suggestioni. La prima è La Ballata del milite ignoto, perché ogni guerra ha il suo "ultimo ammazzato" finchè non ci sarà il primo ammazzato della prossima guerra. Il verso I don't know what for ricorda molto quel giorno mi toccò morire/non mi ricordo più per chi.
L'altro rimando che ho trovato è a Prendi il fucile e gettalo per terra (Gran Dio del cielo).
Difficile però che Jono Manson, per quanto frequentatore dell'Italia e della musica italiana conoscesse queste 2 canzoni. Sono solo fili che si intrecciano casualmente lungo le vie dei canti.
