Per tutta la questione del manicomio di Leros, si rimanda all'omonima canzone di Martha Frintzila. La scena musicale, qui, è però assai differente: siamo nel punk-rock militante greco degli anni '80. Gli Stress sono stati una band ateniese formatasi nel 1980 in un locale della Plaka, l'Aretousa, che era di proprietà di uno dei membri fondatori, noto come “Frank Panx”. Altri membri storici sono stati Louis (Louis Kondoulis), Kon (Kostas Drivas), Camel (Nikos Chronopoulos), Jhonny [sic, vale a dire Giannis Kafandaris] e Billy Lord (Vasilis Palaiokostas). Della situazione del manicomio di Leros, la scena punk greca si era evidentemente già accorta prima di Martha Frintzila, senza che lo scandalo del 1989 fosse ancora scoppiato: la canzone che qui si presenta risale agli anni tra il 1983 e il 1985, con il materiale in parte ripubblicato e remixato, e in parte inedito, contenuto nel secondo album della band, intitolato “L'eco dell'insicurezza II”. Come è lecito attendersi per un testo di una band punk, esso è assai diretto, esplicito. [RV]
