The white rose
The white rose
Munich in the year of 1943,
A girl revealed the truth and spread it around.
The horrors of the eastern front and genocide,
What printed out an’ spread all campus ‘round.

For they preach about the war that they were winning,
Their propaganda kept the people blind,
Like puppets, living lies that they believed in,
Indifferent to the crime they leave behind.

The White Rose stood for courage, under pressure to comply,
The White Rose stood against them,
And in Stadelheim, they were sentenced then to die.

As a Christian fought for the rights she believed in,
And resisted what the Reich had come to do,
Her views and theirs could never be more different,
She’d help to spread the word on what was true.

The leaflets were thrown out just like confetti,
They’ll tell them who our country had to hear,
They placed a pile at every classroom doorway,
But were captured and arrested without fear,

The White Rose stood for courage, under pressure to comply,
The White Rose stood against them,
And in Stadelheim, they were sentenced then to die.

Even though we know our cause is righteous,
And the price of failure brings a highest cost,
If a thousand were to wake and take our action,
Then our lives will never truly have been lost.

Sophie Scholl, ye showed them all your courage,
With Christoph and with Hans you’ll meet again,
Your people now embrace your hand with honor,
Rest in peace, your lives were not in vain.

The White Rose stood for courage, under pressure to comply,
The White Rose stood against them,
And in Stadelheim, they were sentenced then

The White Rose stood for courage, under pressure to comply,
The White Rose stood against them,
And in Stadelheim they were sentenced then to die.
And in Stadelheim they were sentenced then to die.
