Une femme qui pleurait
Eh! Oh! Ha!
Des soldats qui passaient
Eh! Oh! Ha!
Un éclusier qui pêchait
Eh! Oh! Ha!
Les tranchées qui blanchissaient
Eh! Oh! Ha!
Des obus qui pétaient
Eh! Oh! Ha!
Des allumettes qui ne prenaient pas
Et tout
A tant changé
En moi
Tout
Sauf mon amour.
Eh! Oh! Ha!

Versione italiana di Flavio Poltronieri

Caro B.B. ce ne sono altre di poesie di Apollinaire, nato romano Guillaume de Kostrowitsky.....figlio della nobile Angelica e di ufficiale borbonico, che parlano della guerra '15-'18. "Niente spada, onorata arcaicità, niente gladio, ma Speranza".Così sul momento mi viene in mente "Un oiseau chante" (...credo che sia la tua anima che veglia fra tutti i soldati da un soldo, il tuo canto tanto dolce ripetilo alla mitraglia funesta...)
METAMORFOSI

Una donna che piangeva
Eh! Oh! Ah!
Dei soldati che passavano
Eh! Oh! Ah!
Un custode della chiusa che pescava
Eh! Oh! Ah!
Le trincee che biancheggiavano
Eh! Oh! Ah!
Delle granate che scorreggiavano
Eh! Oh! Ah!
Fiammiferi che non si accendevano
E tutto
E' così cambiato
In me
Tutto
tranne il mio Amore
Eh! Oh! Ah!

L'adieu du cavalier

Ah Dieu ! que la guerre est jolie
Avec ses chants ses longs loisirs
Cette bague je l'ai polie
Le vent se mêle à vos soupirs

Adieu ! voici le boute-selle
Il disparut dans un tournant
Et mourut là-bas tandis qu'elle
Riait au destin surprenant

The Cavalryman’s Farewell

Oh God, what a lovely war
With it songs and long long days
I’ve polished this ring much as before
The winds mingle with your last sighs

Farewell. Here it is: the bugle call
Saddle up, he turns, disappearing, dust rises
And then afar, a dying fall
While she remains and laughs at Life’s surprises
