Lyrics & Music by Stuart MacLeod

the48

Stu MacLeod is a singer-songwriter currently living in Edinburgh, and producing songs for the local band The 48, as well as various solo numbers. This song was inspired by "the situation in the Middle East (and various others regions which seem to follow the same pattern) and by the fact that all the negotiations in the world might not dissuade certain factions...the song laments the militarism and blinkered vision of so many of the parties involved".

48
Ten men
Ride out
See them
Circle round
Strong words
Misinformed
On and on

One charge
Put to death
Thus far
One suspect
Blows rain down
As eyes fall...
Words won't win
Here..

They stand
Unhurt
One sword
One word
One threat
To your homes
And on and on
Blows rain down
As eyes fall...
Words won't win
At all
