For Everyone

Philip Riddle
Lingua: Inglese

In these times of world confusion
From my window I can see
A light down an empty road
Shining thru the trees
I have danced like the wind
With my shadow in the night
In dreams I've felt their anguish
The homeless people's plight

Oh the rain will fall on a stormy day
And the clouds may block the sun
The day will come when everyone
Shall walk the road to peace

There are those without a country
Oh their struggle has begun
Born into a world of fear
Behind the blazing gun
We must look beyond the color
Beyond our hate and greed
And open up our hearts to those
With not enough to eat

Oh the rain will fall on a stormy day
And the clouds may block the sun
But I believe we all shall see
The day when war is done

This life it knows no boundaries
No borders to patrol
We gave them money to buy guns
But nothing for their souls
And to the ones that gave their lives
So that other shall be free
One day I'll walk beside them
And them beside of me

Oh the rain will fall on a stormy day
And the clouds may block the sun
But I believe we all shall see
The day when war is done

In my life I've tried to give
A part of me in song
These days I find it harder
To try and right the wrongs
But I try and keep my strength
When the pushing comes to shove
For every fallen spirit
There is a star above

Oh the rain will fall on a stormy day
And the clouds may block the sun
But I believe we all shall see
The day when war is done

I believe we all shall see
The day when war is done
