Okema, from the Nehiyaw/ Samson Cree Nation, defines himself as a Music Artist, Motivational Speaker/Facilitator, Entrepreneur/Owner of Okema Clothing. He leads a healthy lifestyle that is meant to inspire his Indigenous Peoples and Allies. Through his music and fashion he tells his story of battling depression, poverty, violence and addiction and how using music and fashion as an outlet has enabled him to heal, ultimately leading to his success and full potential.
Okema's music often reflects his personal journey, addressing themes of resilience, healing, and cultural identity. He is featured in the song "Warriors" with Knowledge and BluBarry, where they discuss overcoming hardships and advocating for their people. In his song "Life Of A Native", he speaks about discrimination and the importance of mutual respect.
