Simone SahyouniSimone Sahyouni came to Scotland in 1989 as a refugee from the Lebanon and has been performing as a freelance classical singer in and around the UK ever since graduating from the RSAMD in 1995. She began writing songs in 2000 as a hobby and remarks 'it was interesting for me to see that most of them turned out to be protest songs of one kind or another.' Freefall, her first of three songs, is 'based on the events which took place this summer in my homeland. I was lucky that my parents were evacuated in the beginning of August but we still could do nothing for the ones left behind.'
