Tir Nan OgThe band
A band-history stretching over 15 years and more than 300 gigs – and still the Bavarian Irishmen are able to reinvent their style. At the same time they were always staying true to their celtic musical roots. With influences from rock, reggae and acoustic punk they welcome their fans to the land of everlasting youth. Because that is the literal meaning of “Tir Nan Og”. The sextet has already rocked international stages and is always ready to heat up the crowd with their own form of creative Irish-celtic- folk-rock, beats that move your feet and lyrics that make you want to sing along. With easy but also critical themes, flutes, whistles, violin, nyckelharpa, bagpipes, blasting bass and animating drums Tir Nan Og serve their unique sound.

“From the Gallows”
Darker and more aggressive than ever before the new album by Tir Nan Og arrives at your eardrums; because the gallows always comes last. Before that the new CD delivers the perfect soundtrack for roughnecks and manic dancers. Tir Nan Og sing about guys who ask for a beating, they take a political stance and tell dark tales of those whose lives were ended justly and unjustly and sometimes they just shout another drinking song.
The newcomers in the band contribute their part to the sound. Sarah’s rocky voice makes its debut and delivers serious pressure. Andi sounds his whistles and bagpipes. Tir Nan Og has made the next step! 11 self-composed songs await you. As a bonus and for the first time the album contains the song that usually ends all of their gigs: “Wenn ich tot bin” by Luna Luna and on top of that another two Tir Nan Og-covers by Nobody Knows and the Kilkenny Knights…
