John Hamilton, born London 1955, founded the South London based Strawberry Thieves Socialist Choir in 1996, having sung with the Nottingham Clarion Choir from 1989-1995. A communist with anarchist sympathies he has arranged around a dozen songs for four-part choirs, including The World Turned Upside Down (Leon Rosselson), Che Guevara (Peggy Seeger), The Slime (Frank Zappa). The Time Has Come is his first complete composition, written 2001-2004 and it was performed by Strawberry Thieves Socialist Choir in March 2005. John lives in Brockley, London with his partner, Kate Pearce and their two children, Rosa (1996- ) and William (2000- )
