Antiwar songs by Dai Crowther

Genre: Acoustic / Acoustic Vocals / Country / Folk rock

Location: Nottingham, Midlands, UK

One man band - a wide range of acoustic based country, pop and folk and has strayed into blues, jazz and hip-hop(ish) - broadly crossover music. I have been playing in and running folk clubs for the past umpteen years as well as enjoying stints in groups various. I am a songwriter and my range of songs match my musical leanings as described above. I am currently developing a range of country songs and even strayed into country and western but that was/is certainly a one-off. I attended the UKSF (United Kingdom Songwriting Festival) a couple of summers ago and would recommend it to anyone who has an interest in the craft of songwriting.

Influences: Paul Simon and Alan Hull first and foremost but I cannot leave out Lennon/McCartney and Ray Davies. I also must acknowledge the fund of traditional folk songs that have permeated my being and contemporary folk and country writers such as Vin Garbutt, Ralph McTell, John Prine, Nick Evans and Kate Cambell and the two Mary's, Griffith and Chapin-Carpenter.

Sounds Like: Me, Myself an dai. But others say that I am a mix of Paul Simon jamming with John Denver but prone to attacks of Christy Moore.
