The 48

Canzoni contro la guerra di The 48

Genre: Acoustic
Location: Edinburgh, Scotland, UK

The 48 were formed in October of 2004 with a view to amalgamating the acoustic styles of the likes of Ryan Adams and Turin Brakes, with driving guitar riffs and a definite funk edge. Since then, the Edinburgh fivesome have released two highly acclaimed CDs (an untitled 5 track demo and the current EP 'When We Were Kids'), been featured on XFM's 'MySpace Cadet', opened Fresh Air FM’s John Peel Night, been a finalist in Forth and Clyde 1 FM’s 'Rock Against Racism' and most recently secured a slot in the final 30 (from over 2500 bands) for the UK-wide O2 Undiscovered competition. Our 2006 EP is still available to buy. If you'd like to purchase our original EP, "When We Were Kids", simply click the CD cover below and follow the instructions (remember to let us know your mailing address!).

Transcript from an Interview with Stu Macleod
Hi. I'm currently the singer/songwriter in Edinburgh band The 48. Originally based near Glasgow, I moved east in 2000, and got involved in local funk outfit The Fleamarket. 4 tambourine destroying years later, me and the remaining lads put together The 48 and remain rocking today. The stuff you can see here is the more acoustic numbers I write and perform myself, that aren't really right for the band but I likes 'em anyway. Feel free to have a listen, and any feedback is very welcome. Ta. .

Influences?
Ryan Adams, Jeff Buckley, I Am Kloot, that sort of thing. .

Similar?
I'd like to say Ryan Adams, but that's well wishful thinking. Answers on a postcard
