DAYCORE-Columbian thrash death metallers Daycore present their blistering debut release The Beginning of Purgatory featuring the single Dark Visions From The Other Side (included on Metal Hammer's cover mount CD in March 2010).
Formed in 2002 Daycore started making music that was both ferocious and socially conscious. Fuelled by their reactions to the political climate and social injustice they recorded their first EP Unconscience combining elements of thrash and death metal and establishing the band's characteristic heavy sound.
In 2008 Daycore debuted the full-length album The Beginning of Purgatory promoting its main single Dark Visions from the Other Side with a video on the CD release. A support slot with Mortal Sin helped the band promote their new album throughout South America.
Following on from the success the album has won the band Daycore are hitting the road once again with the Beginning of Purgatory South American Tour 2010 taking in Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina and Chile and including 3 festivals. Along with 16 other bands Daycore will also be playing a very special concert in Colombia cities like; Pereira Viva Fest (guest of honor) and in modeling to raise money for the people of Haiti.
Late 2010, the band won the first place for the second time in metal category at the Altavoz festival in Medellin, and securing a slot at the international Altavoz with a massive 75,000 attendance, because of the success in Altavoz festival, the band was invited to perform at the festival commemorating the 335 birthday of Medellin city of with other bands recognized by the city.
