Vo.Caliber

Chansons contre la Guerre de Vo.Caliber

Vo.Caliber’s musical expressions of cynicism, apathy and self-destructiveness perfectly articulate his upbringing in teen suicide hot spot, Montreal, Canada. There appears to be no shortage of self loathing hatred among listeners as concert audiences in Europe, the United States and his own igloo of Canada have embraced Vo.Caliber. Considered blunter than force trauma, Vo.Caliber’s lyrics strike an immediate chord with tax paying civilians sharing his lifestyle of economic slavery, bureaucracy, effortful relationships, traffic jams and sensory abuse..
Vo.Caliber grew up in the uptown area of Montreal to parents who worked roughly 230,000 hours a week PLUS overtime on weekends. His two sisters were 100 years older than him and were engaged with nursing grandchildren/RRSP plans so he spent most of his time in solitude. Subsequently, Vo.Caliber was raised by Unsolved Mysteries and Pro-Wrestling.
Few noteworthy experiences from Vo.Caliber’s childhood consist of having his duplex robbed, watching his puppy get run over by a taxi, being taken to an amusement park by a serial killer, seeing a man stabbed to death on his front porch, and being hit by a car on the way to school. A lot of Vo.Caliber’s childhood friends grew up to sell drugs, but Vo.Caliber did not because he has no balls.
In 2003, Vo.Caliber received a cash advance from a record label a few months before it went bankrupt. He used the cash advance he received to produce an album by himself, thus introducing My Ghost Writer Sucks! This album permitted him to stay active; receiving average to above average reviews from well-regarded evaluators and even landed him dates on a European tour with Scratch of The Roots and Tajai of Hieroglyphics. Vo.Caliber has additionally performed in the United States.
My Ghost Writer Sucks hardly sold anything and Vo.Caliber took a hiatus of 3 years to explore other avenues of attention whoring. Vo.Caliber studied theater, performing in fringe plays at small venues, video content for commercial use as well as live sketch comedy, landing him in the prestigious Just for Laughs festival in 2006.
Vo.Caliber’s new album, titled Loved…Past-Tense, explores aforementioned subjects among others and boasts production from Craig Rip (X-Clan, Wu-Tang Clan, Boom Bap project) and Maine (Bishop Brigante) for the most part. The project also co-stars hip hop mainstays, Masta Ace, Wordworth and Tame One.
