B. Tyler Margison

Antiwar songs by B. Tyler Margison

Transcript from an Interview with B.TM

B.T.M. is made up of one person: B. Tyler Margison.
After failed attempts at starting bands with friends and fellow musicians, none were as devoted, compatible, or reliable as Margison, so he eventually turned himself into his own band, with the help of those he could trust.
He became B.TM.
His debut CD, "Never Enough Time", is scheduled to release 11.11.07.

I started out playing acoustic guitar when I was about 10 or so. I'll be 16 in a month. A few years ago, I started a band with my friend, which, over the years, has had comings and goings of people, and for the time being, we're having troubles keeping track of everyone. I've been writing some acoustic stuff for awhile, but until now, I hadn't recorded anything. I think it's about time.

Why this name?

My first name is Brandon, middle is Tyler, and last is Margison. I go by Tyler, but my "professional name" is just B. Tyler Margison.

Do you play live?

If I have something prepared, I'll play live, but otherwise, I'm kind of shy. I've played at my church, the camp I worked at, at school, and on the street. It's great to play, because it helps a person gain respect.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

It helps it, it keeps it moving, and it saves money.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Most likely, yeah.

Your influences?

System of a Down, Switchfoot, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Staind, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Goo Goo Dolls, Maroon 5, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Audioslave, 3 Doors Down, and others.

Favorite spot?

Right here in Nashville, Indiana... Or Bloomington.

Equipment used:

Just an acoustic guitar, and an audio program on my computer.

Anything else...?

Love to all my friends in BC and around the country, and love especially to my baby, Kayla.
