Jarama Valley

Jarama Valley
8. La versione russa di Taťjana Vladimirskaja
8. Russian version by Tatyana Vladimirskaya
8. La version russe de Tatiana Vladimirskaïa
8. Tatjana Vladimirskajan venäjänkielinen versio

Performed by the Ensemble "Grenada"

There is a Russian version of "Jarama Valley" too. It is actually a poetical translation of Ernst Busch's text by Tatiana Vladimirskaya with another arrangement for music. The Russian variant is not very similar to the "canonical" text and is much more optimistic.

Guantanamera

Guantanamera

When our friends in America warned us about the unspeakable horrors that would follow a George W Bush election victory we thought they were exaggerating. We humbly apologise.

(Continues)

Testo di / Lyrics by Peter Hicks

Does the stunning silence from people in western countries and their lack of opposition to NATO's savage war against the people of Yugoslavia mean that all but a lunatic fringe of Serb nationalists have swallowed the imperialist warmakers lies hook, line and sinker? We hope not.

"Has there ever, morally, been a worse episode in human history than the cynical betrayal of East Timor by it's so-called "friends" - Australia, the USA, the United Nations, the United Kingdom - all have played their shameful parts?

Versione croata dei Najbolji Hrvatski Tamburaši (Zlatni Dukati)
Croatian version by Najbolji Hrvatski Tamburaši (Zlatni Dukati)
Version croate des Najbolji Hrvatski Tamburaši (Zlatni Dukati)

Stop the War in Croatia

Stop the War in Croatia

(Continues)

Corporal Clegg

Corporal Clegg
[1968]
Roger Waters
Da/From "A Saucerful of Secrets"

"Corporal Clegg" is a song by British psychedelic rock band Pink Floyd, and is featured on their second album, A Saucerful of Secrets (1968). It was written by Roger Waters and features David Gilmour on guitar and lead vocals. This song also marks the vocal debut of drummer Nick Mason (in addition to speaking the line "All right men, in you go!" Nick sang the "He won it in the war...", "In orange red and blue...", "He's never been the same...", and "From her majesty the queen...' lyrics); this was confirmed on the US rock radio program Rockline in 1992. (Interestingly, a contemporary lip-synched performance video of the song doesn't show those parts being sung.) David Gilmour also plays the kazoo on this song. The inventor of the kazoo was named Thaddeus von Clegg, which is perhaps why they chose to name the title character Clegg.

da "...Nothing like the sun" (1987)

I once asked my history teacher how we were expected to learn anything useful from his subject, when it seemed to me, to be nothing but a monotonous and sordid succession of robber baron scumbags devoid of any admirable human qualities.

I failed history.

The most palatable history of the world I ever read is only 120 pages long and part of Buckminster Fuller’s book, “Critical Path”. The robber baron scumbags are still there but some attempt is made to explain their pathology and why they’re still around today.

(Continues)

Not My President, Not My War

Chant by PDX anti-war marchers (20-Mar-2004)
Words/music by The Compassionate Conservatives
Copyright © 2004 The Compassionate Conservatives

Based upon a chant by anti-war marchers, this song quickly took on a life of its own. The words are written from the perspective of an American soldier who witnessed the Fallujah incident, sees the charred bodies, and wonders whether he will soon be paying a visit to Dover Air Force Base. All he wants to do is go home... can you blame him?

We suggest that you read Iraqi insider perspectives on the Fallujah retaliation, including firing upon ambulances. If you agree with us that war is a senseless waste of human life, here is a great way to express your opinion. We also suggest that you contact your Congressional rep to oppose the upcoming draft.-Compassionate Conservatives.

Bush's January 2003 State of the Union address repeated the various lies for invading Iraq. However, some of his comments (e.g., "he has shown utter contempt for the UN and the opinion of the world") were remarkably accurate when applied to himself. Commentators include Professor Francis Boyle, who offers reasons why Bush should be impeached. Let's not forget that Bill Clinton was impeached for lying about sex, a private act between two consenting adults.

Consequently, Bush should be not only impeached, but investigated as a war criminal for lying our country into an unnecessary conflict which has resulted in hundreds of US troops killed and thousands wounded, along with 10,000... (Continues)

With a "Mission Accomplished" banner as a backdrop, Commander Dubya declared an end to the Iraq war.

Months later, as the death toll mounted, the White House claimed that he had actually declared an end to "major combat operations". The White House also made a feeble attempt to distance itself from the "Mission Accomplished" banner.

Despite the mellow music, this might be our harshest indictment thus far of our unelected puppet president.

The first two verses focus upon the notion that Bush really didn't care and allowed 9/11 to occur.

Next, we discuss the fact that Bush took political advantage, by launching an illegal war that looks and feels like Vietnam. Slimey? Of course! But the truth is hidden in plain sight. We also chastise the mainstream media for their complicity, particularly CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC.

"Last but far from least, we lambast Bush for being a so-called "man of God", blindly pushing forward with his Divinely-sanctioned holy war, while steadfastly refusing to apologize for anything." - Compassionate Conservatives.

Grateful for the opportunity to "take out Saddam", our fearless leaders played along with the story line which Chalabi fed them. Now that he has returned home, he has dismissed his yarns, proclaimed himself and his cronies to be "heroes in error", and appointed his nephew to try Saddam.

Sheepfarming in the Falklands

Sheepfarming in the Falklands
[1982]
Album: Best Before 1984 [1986]

(Continues)

Nagasaki Nightmare

Nagasaki Nightmare
[1980]

Da/From questa pagina / this page

"On the 6th of August 1945, Hiroshima in Japan, gained a certain permanent place in history as the first city to be destroy by a nuclear bomb. As a result of that attack, 250 000 people alone have died. Three days later, on August the 9, Nagasaki suffered the same faith, a counting for another 60 000 deaths. We will never know how many people are now dying as a result of those attacks. It is estimated that fifty percent of the deaths in the two bombing resulted from burns. Anyone within half a mile from the blast stood little chance of survival, and those that did almost certainly would have died weeks later from radiation sickness. Long term radiation effects are equally terrifying: leukemia, genetic defects, retarded development, malignment deceases, shorten life span, death. Radioactive fallout is carried hundred of miles by the wind and is deposit into the soil by rain and snowfall. The number of deaths and tragedies as a result of nuclear bomb on the earth surface..."

(Continues)
