[1] Nella seconda metà del XV secolo in uno scontro alle isole Gerbe tra le flotte della repubblica di Genova e quella turca insieme ad altri prigionieri venne catturato dai Mori un marinaio di nome Cicala che divenne in seguito Gran Visir e Serraschiere del Sultano assumendo il nome di Sinàn Capudàn Pascià.
