فكر بغيرك	THINK OF OTHERS
وأنتَ تُعِدُّ فطورك، فكِّر بغيركَ [1]	As you prepare your breakfast, think of others
لا تَنْسَ قوتَ الحمام	(do not forget the pigeon's food).
وأنتَ تخوضُ حروبكَ، فكِّر بغيركَ	As you conduct your wars, think of others
لا تنس مَنْ يطلبون السلام	(do not forget those who seek peace).
وأنتَ تسدد فاتورةَ الماء، فكِّر بغيركَ	As you pay your water bill, think of others
مَنْ يرضَعُون الغمامٍ	(those who are nursed by clouds).
وأنتَ تعودُ إلى البيت، بيتكَ، فكِّر بغيركَ	As you return home, to your home, think of others
لا تنس شعب الخيامْ	(do not forget the people of the camps).
وأنت تنام وتُحصي الكواكبَ، فكِّر بغيركَ	As you sleep and count the stars, think of others
ثمّةَ مَنْ لم يجد حيّزاً للمنام	(those who have nowhere to sleep).
وأنت تحرّر نفسك بالاستعارات، فكِّر بغيركَ	As you liberate yourself in metaphor, think of others
مَنْ فقدوا حقَّهم في الكلام	(those who have lost the right to speak).
وأنت تفكر بالآخرين البعيدين، فكِّر بنفسك	As you think of others far away, think of yourself
قُلْ: ليتني شمعةُ في الظلام	(say: “If only I were a candle in the dark").
