donasti ogni tuo affetto ogni tua speme.

Eri nello splendore della vita
e non vedesti che lotta infinita
la notte dei dolori e della fame
che incombe sull'immenso uman carname.
E ti levasti in atto di dolore
d'ignoti strazi altier vendicatore
e ti avventasti tu sì buono e mite
a scuoter l'alme schiave ed avvilite.

Tremarono i potenti all'atto fiero
alto gridando: Viva l'anarchia!

vittime de l'altrui ozio e dell'oro,
Martiri ignoti o schiera benedetta
già spunta il giorno della gran vendetta
della giustizia già si leva il sole
il popolo tiranni più non vuole.
THE BALLAD OF SANTE CASERIO

Come on all ye, this song is for all workers,
A song made up in toil and bitter tears,
A song about a strong and brave young man
Who dar'd to face death all for the love of you.
Your eyes, Caserio, gleam'd in deepest darkness
Seeking revenge for all mankind's distress,
And to the proletarians living in hardest toil
You gave all your warm love and all your hopes.

You still were in your prime, in the bloom of youth,
Yet you saw nothing but endless struggle and fight,
The dark night of sorrow, of hunger and pain
That threatens the human masses struggling in vain.
And then you insurged like in act of contrition,
As the proud avenger of unknown people's toils,
And you rushed, you, who were so mild and meek,
To rouse the slaves, the humble out of dullness.

The Power trembled, frighten'd by your bold action,
New traps were set against the freedom of thought.
But the people to whom you'd given all your life
Refus'd to join your struggle, yet you didn't give up.
Your life was blown away upon a fatal morning,
They took you to be beheaded in the guillotine.
But to the coward world you shouted in the face
So loud: Long live Anarchy!, for the Human Race.

d's explouetès contr' l's exploueteurs.

And now you sleep Caserio in the cold earth
Hearing the final war shake the ground and roar,
The battle for the right against oppression,
No more injustice, no more exploitation!
