CHICAGO (WE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD) | CHICAGO (POSSIAMO CAMBIARE IL MONDO) |
| |
So your brother's bound and gagged | Poiché il tuo fratello è legato e imbavagliato |
And they've chained him to a chair | E lo hanno incatenato a una sedia (1) |
Won't you please come to Chicago | Non vorresti per favore venire a Chicago, |
Just to sing | soltanto per cantare? |
| |
In a land that's known as freedom | In una terra conosciuta per la libertà |
How can such a thing be fair | come può una cosa simile essere giusta? |
Won't you plaese come to Chicago | Non vorresti per favore venire a Chicago, |
For the help we can bring | per l’aiuto che possiamo portare? |
| |
We can change the world - | Noi possiamo cambiare il mondo, |
Re-arrange the world | rimettere in ordine il mondo |
It's dying - to get better | Sta morendo, per diventare migliore |
| |
Politicians sit yourself down, | Politici, rimettetevi a sedere, |
There's nothing for you here | non c’è niente per voi qui |
Won't you please come to Chicago | Non vorresti per favore venire a Chicago, |
For a ride | per una manifestazione? (2) |
Don't ask Jack to help you | Non chiedere a Jack di aiutarti |
Cause he'll turn the other ear | perché ha girato la testa dall’altra parte (3) |
Won't you please come to Chicago | Non vorresti per favore venire a Chicago, |
Or else join the other side | piuttosto che passare dall’altra parte? |
| |
We can change the world - | Noi possiamo cambiare il mondo, |
Re-arrange the world | rimettere in ordine il mondo |
It's dying - if you believe in justice | Sta morendo se tu credi nella giustizia |
It's dying - and if you believe in freedom | Morendo e se tu credi nella libertà |
It's dying - let a man live it's own life | Morendo che un uomo possa vivere la sua vita |
It's dying - rules and regulations, who needs them | Morendo leggi e regole, chi ne ha bisogno |
Open up the door | spalanchi la porta |
| |
Somehow people must be free | In qualche modo il popolo sarà libero |
I hope the day comes soon | Spero che quel giorno arrivi presto |
Won't you please come to Chicago | Non vorresti per favore venire a Chicago? |
Show your face | mostra il tuo volto |
| |
From the bottom to the ocean | Dal fondo degli oceani |
To the mountains of the moon | fino alle montagne della luna |
Won't you please come to Chicago | Non vorresti venire a Chicago? |
No one else can take your place | Nessun altro può prendere il tuo posto |
| |
We can change the world - | Noi possiamo cambiare il mondo, |
Re-arrange the world | rimettere in ordine il mondo |
It's dying - if you believe in justice | Sta morendo se tu credi nella giustizia |
It's dying - and if you believe in freedom | Morendo e se tu credi nella libertà |
It's dying - let a man live it's own life | Morendo che un uomo possa vivere la sua vita |
It's dying - rules and regulations, who needs them | Morendo leggi e regole, chi ne ha bisogno? |
Open up the door | Apri la porta |
