I wrote this song to initially speak to the occupation of Palestine, but it speaks to the broader audience of all countries who control and oppress another nation or group of people (e.g. Syria).
In the shade you are sleeping
beneath the trees quietly weeping
for the messages we’ve left
for our sons.

Oh, a thousand times I’ve tried
but I can't really decide
if after all this pain
just what have we’ve won.

Hold me, for I’m falling
falling from this violence
that you’ve done.

Hear me, for I’m calling
for you to see past
the barrel of your gun.

If you could see past religion
so full of fear and derision
you would finally awake
in sweet love.

If you could only just hear me
above the roar of this hating
you would finally awake
in sweet love.

Hold me, for I’m falling
falling from this violence
that you’ve done.

Hear me, for I’m calling
for you to see past
the barrel of your gun.
