My songs are in Friulian, my first language. A Romance language of the Rhaetian family, Friulian is spoken in a region of northeastern Italy close to the Slovenian and Austrian borders. I'm not particularly proud of being Friulian, Italian, or European. I just feel lucky that I was born close to a borderline. So close, I can look easily at the other side, and always feel a little like a foreigner. And be familiar with borderlines. The songs on this CD Borderline all walk along borderlines, and their characters have borderline perceptions. Between Life and Death, Mother and Son, Leaving and Staying, Overground and Underground, Reality and Psychosis, Love and Battle, Lies and War, Past and Future.
